About BJJ Challenge

BJJ Challenge is operated by [Operator legal name — to be provided before public launch], currently acting as an individual and not through a registered company. BJJ Challenge lets Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes create a profile, challenge each other to matches, report and confirm results, and track a rating and local ranking based on those results.

By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility

BJJ Challenge is available only to individuals who are at least 18 years old. By registering, you represent and confirm that you are 18 or older. We rely on your own confirmation at signup — we do not currently verify age through any other means.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, or that the 18+ confirmation was inaccurate, we may suspend or delete that account at our discretion, using the same account deletion process described below and in our Privacy Policy.

During this Closed Beta, BJJ Challenge is intended for athletes located in the United States. We do not currently make the product available to the general public in any country.

Your account

You are responsible for:

• keeping your login credentials confidential and not sharing your account with anyone else;
• the accuracy of the information you provide, including your 18+ confirmation;
• all activity that happens through your account.

Accounts are currently created by invitation. We may limit, pause, or end invitations at any time during this Closed Beta.

Athlete profiles

Your athlete profile (username, avatar, bio, city/country, belt, weight, gender, and Gi/No-Gi style) is visible to other signed-in BJJ Challenge users so they can find and challenge you. Your full name and date of birth are never shown to other users — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what is public, what is private, and who (if anyone) can see each field.

You agree to keep your profile accurate and not to impersonate another person or athlete.

Challenges, matches & results

You may challenge other athletes and accept or decline challenges sent to you. Once a challenge is accepted, it becomes a match, and either participant may report the result. The other participant can then confirm or dispute that report.

You are responsible for reporting match results honestly and accurately. Reported results affect both athletes' ratings and rankings. Deliberately reporting a false or misleading result is a violation of these Terms and of our Community Guidelines.

Disputes & moderation

If you and your opponent disagree about a reported result, you can dispute it and re-report before it is confirmed. Once both participants agree (or an administrator resolves a dispute), the result is final and contributes to both athletes' rating history.

We may review disputed results and, in limited cases, resolve them administratively. We do not promise a specific response time for disputes or reports, and we do not guarantee that a particular moderation outcome will be reached.

Community Guidelines

By using BJJ Challenge, you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, or abuse another user, on or off a match mat;
• post hateful, discriminatory, or abusive content anywhere in your profile or messages;
• impersonate another person, athlete, or academy;
• send spam, or use the platform for any purpose unrelated to BJJ competition and community;
• report a match result you know to be false, or otherwise misrepresent what happened in a match or challenge;
• post profile content (username, bio, avatar) that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or is otherwise inappropriate for a public sports profile.

If you experience or witness a violation of these guidelines, you can report an athlete's profile, a challenge, or a match directly from the relevant page. Reports are reviewed manually by an administrator. The athlete you report is not notified that a report was filed and never sees who filed it.

Reviewing a report does not guarantee a specific outcome — an administrator may dismiss a report, contact the affected user, remove specific content (such as an avatar), or deactivate an account, depending on what the situation calls for. We do not promise that every report will result in content removal, and we do not commit to a specific review timeline.

Violating these guidelines may result in content removal, account deactivation, or account deletion, at our discretion.

User content & copyright

“Your content” means anything you submit to BJJ Challenge, including your avatar image, bio, username, and any text you write in a challenge message or match note.

You keep ownership of your content. By submitting it, you grant BJJ Challenge a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, and process it solely as needed to operate the product — for example, showing your avatar on your profile, or showing your challenge message to the athlete you challenged. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where a copy needs to continue existing for the limited reasons described in our Privacy Policy (for example, preserving match history).

Only submit content you have the right to use. Do not upload an avatar image or other content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.

If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on BJJ Challenge without permission, you can file a copyright report against the athlete profile in question if you have an account — see the report link on any athlete's profile page. If you do not have an account, or the authenticated report flow does not fit your situation, you can contact us at [Contact email — to be provided before public launch].

We do not currently operate a formal U.S. DMCA designated-agent safe-harbor process. Copyright reports are reviewed and acted on at our discretion as part of ordinary content moderation, described above.

We may remove or disable access to content, including an avatar, in response to a copyright report or for any other Community Guidelines violation.

Suspension, deactivation & deletion

We may deactivate an athlete profile (hiding it from discovery and challenges) or suspend an account for a violation of these Terms, at our discretion.

You can delete your own account at any time from your Account page. Deleting your account anonymizes your profile — it does not remove every historical record. See what is removed and what is retained in our Privacy Policy for the exact, accurate list.

Where reasonably possible, we preserve match and rating history in anonymized form after a deletion, so that other athletes' own match history, results, and ratings remain accurate and unaffected by someone else's decision to delete their account.

Service availability

BJJ Challenge is provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee any specific uptime, and the service may be unavailable, modified, or discontinued at any time, particularly during this Closed Beta.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

BJJ Challenge is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that match results, ratings, or rankings will always be accurate — they depend on what participants themselves report.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, [Operator legal name — to be provided before public launch] will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of BJJ Challenge. BJJ Challenge is a free, small-scale Closed Beta product, and nothing here is intended to expand liability beyond what applicable law actually requires.

Fees & future changes

BJJ Challenge is currently free, with no advertising, payments, or subscriptions of any kind. We may introduce paid features in the future, but none exist today, and nothing in these Terms currently obligates you to pay for anything. If that changes, we will update these Terms and let you know before any payment obligation applies to you.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product changes, especially as this Closed Beta evolves. If we make a material change, we will update the version number at the top of this page. Continuing to use BJJ Challenge after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
